The Janiculum is one of Rome's most picturesque hills, located west of the Tiber River, just above the Trastevere district. Although not one of the traditional seven hills on which Rome was founded, the Janiculum offers some of the best panoramic views of the city, with breathtaking vistas encompassing domes, bell towers, and historic monuments.

The Colosseum is one of the most iconic and symbolic monuments of Rome and the entire ancient world. Built between A.D. 70 and 80 under the emperors Vespasian and Titus, this amphitheater is the largest ever built by the Roman Empire and could seat between 50,000 and 80,000 spectators. Originally known as the Flavian Amphitheater, the Colosseum was the venue for the famous gladiatorial games, public spectacles, simulated naval battles (naumachiae), animal hunts, and other displays that reflected Roman power and culture.
